On 10 December 2024, an agreement was signed between the EPO and the INPI, which provides that search reports on patentability requirements, currently carried out by INPI examiners, will now be carried out by EPO examiners.

This agreement is expected to come into force on 1 March 2025, following the implementation of all the necessary technical and legal aspects.
